Dr. Stephen Beals is the founder of Southwest Craniofacial Center and a cofounder of the Skull Base Team at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He is the founder of the Craniofacial Foundation of Arizona, an organization dedicated to providing emotional and financial support to craniofacial patients and their families. Dr. Beals has published numerous scientific publications and is a world-recognized leader in skull base and craniofacial surgery.
He is a surgical innovator and was one of the first to recognize that a number of serious head deformities in children could be treated with helmet remodeling rather than with surgery.
Dr. Beals is Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, Rochester, Minnesota. He is a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from which he received a Distinguished Alumni Award.
He is a graduate of Wayne State Medical School and completed his plastic surgical training in plastic surgery at Phoenix Plastic Surgical Residency. He completed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. Dr. Beals is widely respected for his work in aesthetic plastic surgery and maintains a successful private practice in Phoenix, Arizona.
