Eric T. Vu, PhD

Principal Investigator, Vocal Loss and Recovery Laboratory
Co-Director, ASU-BNI Interdisciplinary Graduate Degree Program in Neuroscience

Dr. Vu received his B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated summa cum laude. He was a National Science Foundation Predoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, where he received a Ph.D. in neuroscience. He completed postdoctoral training in neurobiology at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California, where he was an National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke Postdoctoral Fellow.

While at California Institute of Technology, Dr. Vu was the co-recipient of the 1995 Capranica Foundation Prize in Neuroethology. Soon after his arrival at Barrow in 1996, he received an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship and obtained funding from the National Institute of Mental Health to direct the Vocal Loss and Recovery Laboratory. He is Co-Director of the ASU-BNI Interdisciplinary Graduate Degree Program in Neuroscience and Clinical Professor of Neuroscience at Arizona State University.
