Anna Tessman, RN, is Program Coordinator for the Barrow Children’s Cleft and Craniofacial Center. In 1990, she earned her RN degree from Phoenix College in Phoenix. After working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center for seven years, Anna left St. Joe’s to learn Neonatal and Obstetrical case management and utilization review in the commercial insurance industry in Arizona. She also worked with Arizona’s Medicaid population with a focus on the development of Obstetrical and Neonatal Case Management programs for two of Arizona’s Medicaid plans.
Anna returned to St. Joseph's Hospital as a Pediatric Nurse Case Manager where she felt drawn toward children with chronic illnesses and special needs. She most recently worked for Children’s Rehabilitative Services as a Clinic and Utilization Review Nurse. Her belief is that the medical system is difficult enough for families to maneuver through, and even more so for children with multiple medical needs.
Anna brings her expertise in patient care management to the Barrow Children’s Cleft and Craniofacial Team and is excited to have the opportunity to assist patients and their families in the coordination of their care with this dedicated and compassionate multi-disciplinary team.
