Steve Chung, MD

Neurologist and Epileptologist 
Director, Neurology Residency Program

Dr. Steve Chung is a neurologist specializing in epileptic disorders. He is an attending neurologist and epileptologist at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is also the Director of the Neurology Residency Program at BNI.

Dr. Chung attended Northwestern University School of Medicine and completed his medicine internship at the same institute. He completed his neurology residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and epilepsy fellowship at UCSF. He has received many honors and awards with the most recent including National Epilepsy Research Award in 1998, American Academy of Neurology Education & Research Foundation Award in 1999, University of California Faculty Teaching Award in 2002, and BNI teaching faculty award in 2004 and 2008. He has been named as one of Best Doctors in America every year since 2005.

Dr. Chung has participated actively in research projects, presentations, and publications in the area of epilepsy, electrophysiology, and neurological diseases in children and adults.

Dr. Chung is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, ABPN subspecialty in Clinical Neurophysiology, and the American Board of Clinical Neurophsyiology. He holds memberships with the American Academy of Neurology, American Neurology Association, American Epilepsy Society, and American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
