Janet Miller, MA
School Consultant
Mrs. Miller is on the Board of Trustees and is the educational consultant for the Craniofacial Foundation of Arizona. She delivers a classroom presentation called "Unwrapping the Package" for patients born with craniofacial deformities who are being teased at school.
Remaining actively involved in the community after retirement, Mrs. Miller joined the Barrow Children's Cleft and Craniofacial Team after shadowing Dr. Beals and Dr. Joganic on their rounds at the Children's Rehabilitative Services. Upon meeting the families and patients it was evident to Mrs. Miller and the doctors that an educational advocate was important to ensure that these patients' emotional and academic needs were met.
Mrs. Miller also worked with Phoenix Puppet Theater to develop a puppet show, "Blindfolded," with the message of tolerance and understanding of differences, which is available to schools.
Mrs. Miller graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and received a Master of Arts degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix.
Her awards include:
2000—second runner-up of the Arizona Cardinals NFL Community Quarterback Awards for volunteer service to the Craniofacial Foundation of Arizona
2001—runner-up for the Arizona Cardinals NFL Community Quarterback Volunteer Award
