Barrow Stroke Prevention Program

The Stroke Prevention Program offers informative presentations and educational materials for adults to increase their awareness of the causes and signs and symptoms of stroke.  The goal of the program is to reduce the incidence of stroke by increasing awareness of lifestyle habits that can reduce the risk of stroke and by emphasizing the importance of seeking prompt medical attention when early warning signs occur.

Stroke Warning Signs

  • Sudden numbness and tingling
  • Sudden paralysis or weakness
  • Sudden loss of speech
  • Sudden vision problems
  • Sudden dizziness or vertigo
  • Sudden loss of consciousness
  • Sudden severe headache
