About Barrow Neurorehabilitative Services

Barrow Neurorehabilitative Services offers unparalleled rehabilitative care for individuals with brain and spinal cord diseases, injuries, and conditions.  The organization has a worldwide reputation for medical excellence and for pioneering procedures, programs, and services that set new standards for neurological care.

What Sets Barrow Apart

Barrow's rehabilitation services focus on helping patients attain self-sufficiency at work, school, community, and family situations. Located on the campus of St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, the Center's primary goal is to help patients enhance their quality of life through improved skills, maximized independence, and renewed self-esteem.

Barrow neurorehabilitation specialists use advanced therapy skills, enthusiasm, and motivational techniques to empower patients to succeed. Because community re-entry is so crucial to patients' ability to lead normal lives, the Barrow rehabilitation team takes patients into the community to experience life and to learn new coping skills. The Barrow team hopes to enable patients to open all kinds of doors to an active life.

Barrow Neurological Institute is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, a nationally recognized standard of excellence in rehabilitation services.

Innovative Rehabilitation

Barrow's unique rehabilitation programs include aquatic therapy, community reintegration, peer mentorship, horticulture, cooking, and ceramics. The Barrow staff is especially proud of three of these programs: the aquatic therapy program, the peer-mentoring program, and the community reintegration program. Each of these specialized therapy programs offers unique methods to treat patients and to help them become active members of the community.
