The International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE)

ILAE, which was founded by a group of international neurologists in Budapest in 1909, disseminates knowledge about epilepsy.   It promotes research, education and training, services and care for patients, especially through prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

 

International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE)

www.ibe-epilepsy.org 

IBE was established in 1961 by laypersons and professionals interested in the medical and nonmedical aspects of epilepsy.  The IBE addresses social problems, including education, employment, insurance, driving-license restrictions, and public awareness. The bureau, which works closely with the ILAE, is funded through membership dues and by financial support from other contributors.
