Cyberknife

Cyberknife Radiosurgery Overview

Cyberknife is a form of radiosurgery, which is a treatment that delivers focused beams of radiation to tumors without the need for an incision. The beams converge on the tumor and destroy it while sparing surrounding healthy tissue.

Cyberknife combines robotics and advanced image guidance to target tumors, eliminating the need for the metal frame that is attached to the skull during other forms of radiosurgery. This frameless approach allows the Cyberknife to treat tumors anywhere in the body, not just in the head.

What is Cyberknife Radiation Therapy used for?

  • Malignant tumors throughout the body
  • Benign tumors throughout the body
  • Vascular abnormalities

Am I a good candidate for Cyberknife Radiosurgery?

You may be a good candidate for Cyberknife radiosurgery if you have been diagnosed with an tumor that is known to respond well to radiation treatment.

This form of radiosurgery may also be an option for infants, whose skulls are too fragile for frame-based treatment.
