Creative activities have been show to be therapeutic for people living with Parkinson's disease (PD). Activities like painting and drawing can temporarily provide symptom relief.
The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center offers creative workshops that encourage participants to take an artistic journey of discovery, where no artistic skills or experience are required. Specific benefits include improvement of fine motor skills and concentration, stress reduction and a sense of achievement. The classes are designed taking Parkinson's disease into consideration and invite participants to shift their focus from any limitations to a new horizon of creative possibilities.
"Parkinson's Positive Colors"
This workshop is an invitation to participate in a very exciting project! The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center wishes to launch a Parkinson Awareness campaign in april 2013. The paintings produced in our fall 2012 workshops will be instrumental in creating a very colorful flyer to catch the attention of the community at large.
Come and help us raise awareness about Parkinson's disease in a very positive and innocative fashion. Just unleash your creative side, pick your most positive colors and paint away with us!
Cost for this workshop is $30 per person, for 5 sessions (materials are included)
