Tai Chi is based on ancient Chinese exercise and strives for physical, mental, and spiritual well being. A series of dance-like movements linked together in a continuous, smooth-flowing sequence form the basis of the workout. These easy to learn movements are progressive, choreographed, and coordinated with deep breathing. Though a gentle exercise, the movements are still powerful enough to foster, circulate, and balance your body's vital energy, called chi.
Tai Chi is designed to energize your mind and body and is kinder to the joints and muscles than other traditional forms of exercise. It is intended to stretch, tone, and relax yourwhole body instead of isolating parts. Particular benefits of Tai Chi to people with a movement disorder include reduced stress, increased energy, improved circulation, better muscle tone, better concentration and focus, and significant improvement in balance.
