Scott Richard Petersen, MD, FACS
Director, Trauma Program
Dr. Petersen is the Director of the Trauma Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He obtained a B.S. degree from the University of Utah and his medical degree from the University of Utah College of Medicine. He served an internship at the University of California, San Francisco, and completed a residency at the University of Utah College of Medicine. He was an NIH Research Fellow in Burns and Trauma at the University of California, San Francisco, and the Trauma Center at San Francisco General Hospital.
Dr. Petersen is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is certified in Surgical Critical Care. He is on the faculty of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and the Mayo Clinic–Scottsdale. Dr. Petersen has published extensively in the medical literature.
