Gregory H. Turner, PhD
Program Manager, Preclinical Imaging
Dr. Turner earned a BSEE and MSEE from the University of Alabama and a MSBME and PhD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Vanderbilt University where he developed imaging methods for studying brain function and the neural effects of pharmacologic compounds in preclinical models. Prior to joining the Barrow he worked as a Principal Scientist at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals where he developed imaging protocols for studying cardiac function and vascular inflammation.
At Barrow Neurological Institute, Dr. Turner directs the operation of the BNI-ASU Center for Preclinical Imaging (CPI), which houses a 7T Bruker MRI and a Xenogen IVIS Spectrum Optical Imager. The CPI is a core facility with the mission to provide state of the art imaging technology and expertise for researchers in the Phoenix area.
