Omar Lopez, 35, is one of many young individuals who are having strokes contrary to the belief that strokes only affect the elderly. A recent study suggests that 1 in 5 strokes now occur in adults 20 to 54 years of age--up from 1 in 8 during the mid-90’s.

5/9/13	Young Valley Mom Stuns Doctors by Beating Deadliest Brain Cancer Given just months to live in 2006, a 32-year-old Arizona woman, treated at St. Joseph’s Barrow Neurological Institute, has amazingly beat two brain tumors, outlived her projected life expectancy, and recently became a mother – all things no one ever thought imaginable. She will celebrate her first Mother’s Day this Sunday. May is also National Brain Tumor Awareness Month.
